Not how I thought it would go

🪜 What happened instead

Hey there,

As far as the rest of the world could tell this past week, it was a quiet one for me.

I wasn’t active on LinkedIn, for one. Which can feel like brand building suicide, but actually makes zero difference whatsoever.

And besides a few trips to the gym and my son’s soccer game (they won!) I barely left my house.

Meanwhile, inside my home office, was a whirlwind…

If you missed my last 4,000 emails, I’ve been focused on relaunching my best offer yet.

Launch weeks are always a bit more chaotic than your average.

But to make things spicier, I had the unexpected joy of a related backend system going down. That meant new masterclass customers couldn’t get access. Whee!

So I had to finagle some workarounds.

But the lion’s share of my week?

Spending 40+ hours interviewing early bird customers to see how things went, and then incorporating their ideas and feedback back into the masterclass… because we should treat our offers like a prototype that we continually iterate and improve.

So, it’s been busy week. Productive and exciting, sure…

But still, as I wrap up the week, I’m reminded that nothing goes as perfectly as we plan.

I’m 15 years into this entrepreneur thing. This is probably my 50th offer launch across two businesses (if you don’t count the dozens I’ve helped clients with) - and still - how I thing things will go is rarely how it actually happens.

Then again, if everything in business was simple and straight forward, I wouldn’t love playing the game as much as I do.

But you tell me…

Is this not what it’s actually like to build your business?

šŸ¤˜šŸ¼ See ya next Sunday,

Jay Melone
